iM Sarawak Mobile Community Clinic to help to give those in the outskirts of town better access to medical attention

by: admin

KUCHING, 23 January 2018 – 1Malaysia Sarawak Advisory Council member Ir Hj Irwan
Zulkarnain Hj Muhammad Hasbie handed over a brand-new, medically equipped Maxus
V80 van to Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya Kuching today. Also known as the iM
Sarawak Mobile Community Clinic, this vehicle has been out-fitted specifically to enable
medical practitioners to attend to outpatient cases. This initiative was implemented in
partnership with YB Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Local Government and Housing,
Sarawak, Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya, Kuching, the Sarawak State Health
Department and the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Ir Hj Irwan Zulkarnain Hj Muhammad
Hasbie said “This project is in line with the objectives of iM Sarawak to help improve the
standard of living of Sarawakians. Many living in the outskirts have trouble getting
transport into town while others cannot afford to take time off work to visit the hospitals and
clinics. As such we hope that the mobile clinic will be able to help the elderly and those
with mobility problems get medical attention in a timelier and more cost-effective manner.”
Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya is responsible for the mobile community clinic’s
operations and maintenance.
